Leon Green
Physiotherapist

Having always had an interest in science, health and exercise, and with a love for interacting with people, Leon gravitated towards physiotherapy because it allows him to pursue all of those interests and at the same time, have a positive impact on the people that he meets.

Leon completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Ballarat and graduated in 2012, then undertook his Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland, graduating in 2015.

He grew up in South Gippsland on a dairy farm, and since he had a lot of older brothers and sisters who lived in and around Melbourne, it felt right to be closer to family and friends, making the formal move to the big city.

Getting to meet new people every day, Leon enjoys hearing his clients’ different stories, learning new things from them and helping his them through a challenging time in their life.

He has a keen interest in the multifactorial nature of pain, especially as it relates to persistent pain. “It’s a really interesting process of unpacking all the contributing factors that build into someone’s issue and providing solutions for that. A goal with my work is to provide simple solutions for complex problems.”

2018 saw Leon complete his first marathon, something that he is very proud of, having a strong passion for running and exercise. He also plays three different instruments!

Ali El Souki
Physiotherapist

Prior to the completion of his physiotherapy degree from the University of Canberra, Ali completed a Bachelor of Sports and Exercise Science. His training has culminated his passion to be able to deliver further education about exercise and healthy living.

Ali strongly believes in exercise as a form of preventive medicine. He has a keen interest in pre and post op rehabilitation, sports injuries and chronic pain conditions and uses a client-centred approach, combined with personalised exercise programs, education and hands-on techniques to empower and maximise outcomes for his patients. This involves formulating an individualised recovery plan that is focused on achieving both return to activity goals and prevention of future injuries.

“I love being able to empower and enable all my patients to reach their goals and exceed their own expectations. I really enjoy the process of figuring out the main cause of my patient’s issues and making a plan together to ensure they can return to doing what they enjoy.”

Away from work, Ali has a love for sports and enjoys Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, soccer and the AFL. He also enjoys spending quality time with his two young nieces.

Catherine Etty-Leal

Catherine is also a Certified APPI Pilates Matwork and Equipment Instructor.

“I love the look on people’s faces when they find that sense of self belief, usually when they’ve come back after a session or two of not believing they will ever get better, but then they have realised that they CAN do it!”

Catherine has extensive experience working across the public hospital system and in private practice and enjoys treating a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and disorders, though she has a keen interest in paediatric physiotherapy. She has worked with elite athletes in various sports and has completed additional clinical training in paediatrics, including conditions such as plagiocephaly, positional talipes and developmental gross motor delays and has a passion for helping young people from birth up until their teenage years. She draws on her many years of clinical experience treating this population to provide them with family-centred care so they can achieve their goals in a timely manner. Teri Lazarus
Pilates Instructor

With a strong passion to move people towards a better quality of life and believing Pilates plays a vital role in providing that service, Teri completed her STOTT Pilates Advanced Mat Work course in 2015 along with her Breathe EDU Cert IV course in 2018.

Teri also has a great passion for pre and postnatal care, with a love for helping mums and mums-to-be get strong and stay strong, pre and post natal. She has completed her antenatal and post natal course with Taube Pilates in 2019 as well as another course with APPI in 2020.

She has always loved practicing Pilates herself and now loves seeing the benefits Pilates provides to her clients – postural awareness, flexibility, strength and all round fitness!

“We live in a world where there is a lot of sitting for long hours, focusing on computers and driving, and unfortunately our postures are affected by this sedentary lifestyle. I hope that by creating postural awareness and getting people moving they are able to be more in-tune with their posture and body.”

Teri loves seeing the smile on her clients’ faces after they have completed a Pilates class.

“That particular smile reserved for a class that leaves them feeling mentally and physically challenged, happier and stronger!”

Teri’s grounded upbringing and the love and support of her big family ensures she genuinely cares about her clients, and she enjoys seeing smiles on their faces, whether it’s through a great Pilates class or just a good chat.

When she’s not treating at her studio , Teri loves to perform yoga, Pilates, running, walks along the beach, drinking red wine and relaxing with her beautiful family!

Alana Shaw
Pilates Instructor

Alana has been practicing Pilates since 2013 when a friend dragged her along to a mat class. She instantly fell in love and has never looked back!

As a myotherapist, Alana has always used exercise prescription to help continue her client’s recovery so it was only natural that she combines her personal love for Pilates with her professional career.

Alana completed her Matwork certification with Studio Pilates in 2019 and now uses her Pilates training for fitness as well as in a rehabilitation setting. Alana is also currently completing her reformer training with Polestar Pilates International.
