From a young age, Alena always had a strong interest in health and fitness and completing a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology offered her an insight into diseases and disabilities, as well as the functions of the human body. This really inspired her to pursue a career where she could really help make a difference and assist people to achieve their best quality of life.
Alena completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Western Australia in 2014, and in 2018, her Graduate Entry Masters of Physiotherapy from Curtin University.
“I love being able to empower patients to make positive changes to their lifestyle and health, and to achieve their best possible outcomes.”
As an advanced aerialist dancer herself and having completed further studies in dance-based physiotherapy, she specialises in the technique, injuries and aesthetics of dancing. She also provides pre-pointe assessments and has a thorough knowledge of ballet-based injuries, as well as contortion, silks, lyra and pole-based rehabilitation.
Alena has a keen interest in the treatment and management of chronic conditions, particularly of the neck and back, and is also passionate about physical rehabilitation of sporting injuries.
Outside of her work with our team, Alena enjoys spending time in the gym doing strength and cardio based exercise, as well as yoga and Pilates.
