Hi, I'm Joel Ow!
Born in Singapore and raised in Perth, Joel made the move to Melbourne to pursue his studies – graduating from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Physiotherapy – and to experience the “most liveable city in the world”.
During his studies, Joel gained experience in a variety of sport clubs including the Melbourne University Blacks VAFA-B, Australian Men’s Masters hockey championships, state level athletics, swimming and triathlon teams. He also has two years of experience at Brunswick Hospital helping patients with their rehabilitation and achieving their physical health goals.
In the musculoskeletal setting, Joel has a special interest in low back pain, lower limb rehabilitation and shoulder injuries in both sporting populations and everyday people and loves to individualise treatment options such as exercise-based rehabilitation and soft tissue techniques in a patient-centered manner, ultimately seeing patients walk out the door pain- free and return to doing what they love.
Outside of work, Joel has a love for sports – both as a player and fan – including basketball, tennis and badminton. He also loves to embark on road trips as a traveler, photographer and cinematographer.
