Hi, I'm Madeleine Sandl!

Physiotherapist at Busselton

At the age of 11, Maddie faced a knee injury that required surgery and extensive physiotherapy. It was during this time that she met her first physiotherapist, a “kind and funny” professional who played a vital role in her complete recovery. The deep bond formed during this experience made her realise that she wanted a career where she could have lasting relationships with her clients and guide them through their entire recovery journey.

Having earned her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle, Maddie continually seeks to expand her knowledge and understanding of the human body and has additionally pursued a Diploma of Clinical Pilates from Breathe Education.

Maddie is passionate about educating her clients, helping them uncover the often multifaceted nature of pain and wellbeing. By fostering a holistic, biopsychosocial approach to treatment, she empowers individuals to improve their relationship with their bodies and minds, not only addressing current pain but also preventing future discomfort.

“I find it really rewarding teaching clients who are in pain about their body to help improve their connection between their body and their mind. Many complex pain presentations cannot always be explained through physical injury alone, but rather through a combination of physical, mental, emotional and neurological components.”

Maddie’s love for her profession is deeply rooted in her desire for active, social, and engaging work. She thrives on movement and interaction, making every day in her treatment room a dynamic and fulfilling experience.

One of Maddie’s greatest passions within the scope of physiotherapy is the use of Clinical Pilates for rehabilitation and working with her NDIS clients. She’s captivated by the versatility of Pilates and the range of exercises it offers, from strength and endurance to power and flexibility work. She loves tailoring exercise programs to any individual and witnessing the transformative effect it has on her clients.

Outside of work, Maddie is a water enthusiast, enjoying swimming and surfing. Pilates and yoga keep her balanced, and the gym is her playground for fitness. She also loves going on a good bushwalk and playing volleyball. Her commitment to health also extends to her local football club, where she serves as the team’s physiotherapist, blending her love for football with her desire to help players with their injuries.
