One of our physiotherapists will assess any injuries and your current level of fitness before beginning clinical Pilates treatments. They will sit down with you and discuss your goals. Together, you’ll design a custom-tailored program that meets your needs.

Your exercises will follow the six principles of Pilates:

  • Strict concentration
  • Centred focus on the spine and core stabilizing muscles
  • An emphasis on precise technique
  • Carefully controlled movements
  • Flowing movements
  • Normal breathing

We’ll use the latest specialised Pilates equipment such as:

  • Reformers
  • Wunda chairs
  • Trapeze tables
  • Other tools including weights and fitballs

Pilates is great for injury rehabilitation. Exercises that require jerking motions, like weight-lifting, can lead to injuries. Pilates emphasises flowing and controlled movements. When recovering, it’s better to focus on controlled and precise movements as opposed to seeing how much you can lift. This allows you to you’ll strengthen connecting muscles you didn’t even know you had.

South Perth Clinical Pilates

The benefits of South Perth clinical Pilates

How can clinical Pilates help you? Clinical Pilates excels at:

  • Injury prevention
  • Increasing muscle strength
  • Better body toning
  • More rapid injury recovery
  • Post-surgery recovery
  • Whiplash recovery
  • Back and neck pain relief
  • Headache relief
  • Pelvic pain relief
  • Chronic pain relief
  • Arthritis treatment
  • Assisting with Stroke recovery
  • Reducing Parkinson’s Disease symptoms
  • Helping with other neurological conditions

Pilates’ focus on strengthening your mid section, sometimes called the core, provides improved posture. If you have good posture, it means that your spine is in alignment and you’re not putting unnecessary pressure on it. Since the spinal cord is the largest nerve in the body, taking pressure off of it can relieve pain in many areas of your body.

Pilates can help with injury recovery and prevention by strengthening the muscles around weak joints and providing greater stability. The gentle, low-impact movements of Pilates reduce the risk of injury while performing Pilates movements.

Other benefits our South Perth Pilates instructors provide include:

  • Greater flexibility
  • Better mobility and stability for the elderly
  • Treating aches and pains that often accompany pregnancy
